the birth of worldroom

The fast-changing and highly connected 21st century brings in new challenges and opportunities for every educator. In the classrooms, what is now being taught and how it is being taught are heavily determined by various global, cultural and social factors. There is, for instance, much to be learned from how Asia more noticeably builds in its students a strong sense of national identity; curriculum is deliberate in rooting all studies in each country's own history, culture and traditions. Then, technology has globalized learning because almost everything is already possible at the click of one's fingertips, a big treasure box opens up to the imaginative and creative teacher. Then of course, the evolving dynamics at the workplace redefines the set of skills today's students really ought to be learning; excellent critical thinking and a great amount of adaptability are among those that rank high.

These and many other happenings today make educators ask themselves, "Are we preparing our students for the real world?"

Educators are at the forefront of making the connection between their classrooms and the world out there; more than ever, they need to make the world their classroom.

Thus, WorldRoom is born.
